Be aware of the damage that wind can cause
It is not just the snow, ice, and the cold that you must worry about during winter in Colorado. If you’ve lived here any length of time, you know the crazy winds we can get. These can occur during nearly any season, but you can very often feel them in the winter.
Heavy winds in crazy storms can do just as much damage to your roof and home as snow and ice. After any big wind storm, you must be sure to check your roof for any damage. There may be missing or broken shingles, so be on the look out for those.
Another thing to check is your gutters. Be sure those are still function as they should be and that no part of them has blown away with the wind.
Most importantly is to be sure and do an overall check of all things roof after a wind storm. This is because you never know what kind of damage the wind can do. It is best to be aware of the damage as soon as it occurs so as to fix it before it gets worse.
